Jennifer Wigmore is a multidisciplinary artist: Actor, Visual Artist, Writer and Educator. As an actor she has performed on main stages across the country, including the Citadel Theatre, Stratford Festival, Tarragon Theatre and recently in Sheets at the Theatre Center. Jennifer also has a successful film and television career.  Recent credits include: Y: The Last Man, Happy Place, Adult Adoption, Mallory Towers, Anne with an E, Impulse, Designated Survivor.

Jennifer’s artwork explores the entanglements of art making, pedagogy and research from within the disciplines of acting and visual art. Her work can be found in collections across Canada, the US and England and is a founding member of Blunt Collective. While rooted in painting, her practice spans figurative and abstract works.

 She is a graduate from the musical theatre program at Grant MacEwan, and obtained her BFA and Masters at OCAD University. She began teaching acting in 2004 and co-developed the theatre training program at Fanshawe College. She’s taught acting at Ryerson University, Randolph College, George Brown College, and visual art at OCAD University, the Art Institute of Chicago and Sheridan College. With a focus on first year training, she is collaborating on a book about the Zone of Silence acting training technique with master teacher Perry Schneiderman. Other published writing includes; Acting Training in Canada: An Appeal for Change for Intermission Magazine and The State of Acting Training in Canada for HowlRound Magazine. She is also working on her first play entitled, Measure².

Jennifer organized the first Got Your Back Acting Educators Conference in May of 2019 at the Tarragon Theatre and helped build the 2018 National Acting Training survey. Jennifer is also an elected Canadian Actor’s Equity Councillor for Ontario and a board member for NSIP the National Society of Intimacy Professionals
